Well, opening out the exit for the exhaust does increase horsepower. Anything that smooths the flow of the Amused My Favorite Sport shirtin and out of the combustion chamber helps. But not nearly as much as the sellers claimed for exhausts. Things like porting and polishing and bigger valves do a lot more. And of course bigger pistons give more power. But that all costs real money …I used to live in a state that constantly had sheets of ice on the road (usually below the temperature that salt works). Snow tires often work better on ice than studs, depending on the consistency of the ice. You just need to give them time. They’re not magic – you need to break way more gradually and understand how momentum works or neither snow tires nor studs will make a difference.

That’s not good advise with modern cars. Anti-lock brakes are designed to work by slamming your foot down.Your goal should be to never HAVE to hit the brakes. Hard braking on ice/snow can cause you to slide and lose control of the car, but the point is you should always give yourself enough time and space to stop without hitting something in case you do slide. Assume Amused My Favorite Sport shirtyou will even with 4WD and snow tires.
Drive like your 90 year old grandma is in the front seat without a seat belt and she has a giant hot crock of chilli in her lap. There’s probably a ton of snow driving tips you could read up on. Snow tires is a good start if you’re nervous. I’ve been in the MT region almost all my life but I still prefer snow tires over not havi g them just in case. With that said, I would say the only real best answer is to take your car out to an empty snowy parking lot, maybe some with incline, and really testing how it drives and getting a good feel for how your car handles the snow in various situations. That said, slow down before you see a problem, and try to stop well back of anything that looks sketchy. Not getting into trouble is better than trying to stop when you’re already in trouble
