Played tons of sports in Jr high/high school. I played baseball, basketball, football, and ran for track and field. Im Totally LAcking The Zip A Dee PArt Of My Doo Dah Day Cow Shirt to watch the NFL and NCAA religiously.I would say I’m quite athletic, the major team sport I play is rugby. People seem to assume that this means I’m interested in spending multiple hours every week watching games and learning stats, but it’s quite the opposite (admittedly, I do watch the big events in which my country is involved – France, that is). I can’t imagine how much more boring watching sports daily would be in the US, where sports have less momentum and are much more about the stats.I also lost all interest after high school. Haven’t watched or been interested in a sport in probably 6 years. I dont think its wierd or there’s anything wrong with it. Its just not a hobby we enjoy.

In my 30s I regretted not having learned to enjoy sports since every other guy always talked about sports. Bosses. Colleagues. Other dads. Finally in my 40s I’ve learned to try to get along for the sake of getting along and become fully accepting of my shortcomings. Now I see sports as a social skill. Much like conversation and manners. It’s not inherently good or bad, but it’s sometimes tedious to learn, and overall a worthwhile pursuit.I used to be a basketball, hockey and baseball fan. Watched games all the time and watched TSN or Sportsnet all the time. I used to go to games until they got too expensive, I used to buy team merchandise until it also got too expensive. When my favourite hockey team started making fans pay to watch games on cable tv that was it for me. Stopped watching all sports altogether. I don’t follow any sports related news at all, couldn’t even tell you any players on my former favourite teams.
