Because the English cricket team isn’t as popular and all consuming in England as the Australian one is in Australia. Since the 2005 it’s all been on pay Native american the native face shirt and has receded from public consciousness. I don’t think the ECB has done anything to really curb this decline. I also get the impression that cricket in England is more of an upper class sport (though that might be a generalisation), whereas in Australia it’s a game for everyone. Football is also overwhelming in England even in the summer months. So in relation to public response in England, why would there be any response from people who have no clue who this ginger haired man is?

Best Native american the native face shirt
Should there have been a greater Native american the native face shirt from the cricketing following people in England, yes. But in relation to the wider public, you can’t really respond to something if you have no clue who the man is Whereas the Australian team has always been held up as a paragon of Australianess (the myth of the baggy green etc etc and all that bullshit). The Australian team is far more in the public consciousness compared to the English one, john howard loved to talk about his love of cricket for example. They also had a monumentally successful team for a long time that played cricket in a way that the Australian public seemed to like (win fuckloads of matches, abuse the shit out of the opposition, or in Australian parlance play hard/tough cricket).
